On Thursday, Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola appointed 30 civil servants as permanent secretaries.

The names of the appointees are included in a statement signed by Service Director, Dr. Festus Oyebade.

Those appointed will fill existing vacancies in the state civil service, the statement said.

But the Osun Governor-Elect, Ademola Adeleke, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, warned those appointed against taking up the post.

Part of the statement read: “We want to go on the record that those who receive appointments should be prepared to leave regardless of their length of service or reaching legal age.

“Occupants will be considered political appointees who will automatically follow the outgoing governor out of office beginning November 28.

“In the meantime, those who still want to continue serving the Osun state government should reject the gift of Greece from the outgoing Premier. We affirm that there will be no immunity from the dismissal of any kangaroo permanent secretary.”
