The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed that a male adult died in the accident in Alakara in the Mushin district of the state.

LASEMA permanent secretary Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said in a statement on Wednesday that the agency received a distress call around 2 a.m. and responded to the call.

Oke-Osanyintolu said: “Earlier today, Wednesday, November 23, 2023, a dead adult male and an empty tanker were found in the Mushin area of ​​Lagos in connection with a separate traffic accident. .

“The timely recovery operation was in response to a distress call received by the agency at 2.16am, followed by swift arrival at Mushin bus station Alakara at 02.25am.

“The agency’s rapid response prevented the outbreak of fire and other secondary incidents at the crash site and quickly recovered the unidentified truck assistant who was killed in the crash.

“Further information gathered at the scene indicated that the immediate cause of the accident was reckless driving.

“The tanker was successfully recovered from the road avoiding a secondary accident and has been handed over from the Alakala Police Station to the Nigerian Police Force.

“The bagged goods are the remains of the truck’s assistant and have also been handed over to police at the scene for further processing.”
