Uber users will soon be able to collect Avios on every trip in a car, coach or train booked through the Uber app by linking their British Airways Executive Club and Uber step account link.

From later this month, members of the airline’s loyalty scheme will be eligible to earn one Avios per £1 spent on any ride booked on the Uber app in the UK, be it car, coach Or a train. These can then be used for worldwide flights, upgrades and extras.

To celebrate the new partnership, members who link their Executive Club and Uber accounts through the Uber app will receive 250 bonus Avios, BA said.

Avios are the global loyalty currency used by airlines such as British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Qatar Airways.

According to a statement from British Airways, which can be collected by flying around the world and everyday spending, Uber has become the latest member of British Airways’ executive club to help boost travelers’ balances.

Users simply enter their details into the

Uber app in settings section. To sign up for the British Airways Executive Club, the British airline advises its customers to visit its website, adding that Avios will automatically appear in each member’s account after every Uber ride.

Andrew Brem, general manager of Uber UK, said: “We’re excited to help Uber users collect Avios on every trip they take. So every day trips, like going to work or the shops, can help you reach more destinations with British Airways. Exotic place.”

Ian Romanis, head of retail and customer relationship management at British Airways, was also quoted as saying: “Avios help open up the world, wherever our customers wish to travel.”
