American rapper Kanye West has said he asked former US President Donald Trump to be his running mate in the 2024 US presidential election.
West, formally known as Ye, recently announced he would run for president in 2024 after losing the 2020 election.
On Wednesday, the 45-year-old rapper revealed on his Twitter page that he had visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago, the latter’s private club in Florida.
West said he kept Trump waiting as he further hinted at the subject of their discussion.
Running the Twitter pill, West asked his followers to guess how Trump would react when he asked the latter to be his running mate in 2024.
The rapper tweeted: “First time at Mar-a-Lago. Rain and traffic.
“I can’t believe I kept President Trump waiting and I’m still wearing jeans. Oops!
“What do you think his reaction will be when I ask him to be my running mate in 2024?”
This comes a week after Trump also announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidency.
Trump officially launched his 2024 campaign, filing documents with the Federal Election Commission in which he declared himself a presidential candidate and created a new campaign committee.
