On Monday, Prince Gboyega Famoodun, chairman of the Osun State All Progressive Congress, was reported to have emerged as the new Igbajo Owa.

The Famoodun are assembled and elected by the kingmakers, and the election is then approved at a state executive council meeting.

Upon his appointment, Prince Falmutton will succeed the late Oba Olufemi Fasade, who passed away in December 2020.

Owa-Elect’s father, Oba Adelani Famoodun, succeeded the late Oba Fasade.

Former Osun State Information Commissioner and Igbajo Aboriginal, Sunday Akere, confirmed Famoodun was elected by the kingmaker and appointed by the state government.
