Delta State Police Command officers recovered a pump-action gun, a locally-made long gun, three locally-made cutting guns and 18 rounds of live ammunition from the fleeing suspects in Warri.

The command’s police public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a press statement provided to reporters on Saturday.

The statement read in part: “On November 17, 2022 at approximately 2200 hours, police officers belonging to the Ebrumede Division, while performing a stop and search mission on the Warri DSC highway, found a three-wheeled vehicle with the registration number: EFR 175 VK, Transport two crew members to the police checkpoint.

“The operator marked the tricycle for a routine inspection. Unexpectedly, two occupants of the tricycle jumped off and fled the scene, leaving behind the tricycle.

“During the search of the tricycle, a pump-action gun, a locally-made long gun, three locally-made custom-made guns and 18 rounds of live ammunition were found.”

The PPRO revealed that efforts were underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
