The Kwala State branch of the All Progressive Congress has denied any involvement in the attack by alleged political mobs on the convoy of Alhaji Yaman Abdullahi, the PDP gubernatorial candidate.

The attack, which reportedly took place on Friday when Abdullahhi’s campaign convoy left Shaw in the state’s Moro Local Government Area after Friday’s campaign, allegedly left some members of the party injured. Seriously injured, while many vehicles were damaged by the mob.

In a statement from its propaganda secretary, Prince Tunji Morohunfoye, the PDP condemned the alleged attacks by APC mobs on its candidates and their supporters.

Morohunfoye added, “PDP Governor candidate Alhaji Shuaib Abdullahi and his campaign train were attacked by mobs suspected of being APC sponsored in Shao, Moro Local Government Area, Kwara State early today (Saturday) as the team was on its way back The state capital Ilorin.

“Some members of Alhaji Yaman’s entourage were also injured after this unprovoked traumatic attack and had to be hospitalized.”

State Police Public Relations Officer SP Ajayi Okasanmi told one of our reporters that he has not received any reports of attacks on the PDP candidate’s campaign team.

But the state’s APC spokesman, Tajudeen Aro, refuted the claims, saying the PDP had a crisis with the bus drivers they hired for the campaign over payments.

“They (PDP) don’t need to shout that they are being attacked. What they should do is probably go to the police and report it. I did the research and asked three people. They had problems because they didn’t pay for the bus they rented. The bus driver got into an argument with them because they didn’t get paid,” Arrow added.

However, Morohunfoye said the opposition faced political intimidation in the state.

He said, “We would like to remind Kwarans of the ugly incident that happened last weekend, all PDP banners and billboards were defaced and destroyed in Kwara South, on the road to Obo-Ayegunle, just because Governor Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, was invited to attend there of an activity.

“The entourage of PDP deputy governor candidate Gbenga Makajuola was also invited to the event, but they had to be quarantined in Omu-Aran due to fears of conflict with the governor’s APC entourage. We in the PDP wish to reiterate that none of the Man has a monopoly on violence. We know we are on our way to victory in InshAllah 2023. So why are we causing trouble and perpetuating violence? We can only appeal to our heroic but woefully underfunded security agents in Kwara State to find and arrest these Suspected destabilizers funded by APC.

“Consequently, we at the PDP, put it to the Kwara APC that glossy banners, billboards, and beautiful campaign materials do not win elections. May also wish to remind the APC that the mob should not and cannot shake the great people of Kwara State for change led by Mal The determination of the “dirty diaper” APC regime. Abdurrahman Abdul Razak.”
