Three people were killed and three seriously injured in a separate road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan highway.

Mr Ahmed Omar, the division commander of the Ogun FRSC, confirmed this to reporters in Abeokuta on Monday.

Omar explained that the accident occurred in the early hours of Monday and involved a Toyota Sienna with registration number DKP 60 LG.

He added that this happened before the first AP bend after the Danco gas station on the highway.

He blamed the crash on speeding which caused the driver to lose control.

The FRSC boss said there were six people in the car, including four men and two women.

“Three people were injured, two male adults and one female adult, and unfortunately, three people died in the accident,” he said.

Omar noted that the injured victims are currently being treated at the Idra Hospital, while the bodies are being stored in the morgue of the same hospital.

District commanders expressed sympathy for accident victims and advised motorists to avoid speeding, especially during this ember month.
