Ramon Adedoyin, owner of the Hilton Honors Yves Island hotel, and six of his employees were re-arraigned on Monday on 18 counts of conspiracy and murder in Obafay, Yves Timothy Adcock, a master’s student at Obafemi Awolowo University.

It will be recalled that Addoyne and the other defendants in the case have been on trial, facing 11 counts of conspiracy, murder and interference with a dead body.

However, the prosecutor, Chief Fermi Farana (SAN), made an application to the court seeking to amend the charges against the accused in light of the new evidence in the court after the defence closed.

However, the application was opposed by defense attorneys, arguing that it was made in bad faith.

During Monday’s proceedings, the defendants were re-arraigned after Osun State Chief Judge Adepele Ojo granted an application seeking to amend the charges.

In her ruling, Judge Ojo rejected arguments that the defense attorneys’ amendments were made in bad faith and that prosecutors were biased against their clients, saying that because a verdict had not been delivered, prosecutors could amend the charges.

After the objections were dropped, the newly revised 18 counts were read to the seven defendants, all of whom pleaded not guilty.

The revised count section reads: “You, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adebayo Kunle, Adedeji Adesola, and others now at large, on November 5-7, 2021, During this time, in the jurisdiction of this distinguished court, you conspired against each other to unlawfully kill a Timothy Adegoke, thereby committing a punishable offence under Section 324 of the Penal Code, Vol. II, 2002 Osun State Section 34 Chapter Law.

“You, Dr Ramon Adedoyin, Adeniyi Aderogba, Magdalene Chiefuna, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adedeji Adesola and others now at large, between November 5 and 7, 2021, within the jurisdiction of this distinguished court, unlawfully killed a Timothy Adegoke and thereby committing an offence under Section 306 of the Criminal Code of Osun State Laws 2002, vol.

“You, Dr Ramon Adedoyin, Adeniyi Aderogba, Magdalene Chiefuna, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adedeji Adesola and others now at large, between November 5 and 7, 2021, within the jurisdiction of this distinguished court, unlawfully killed A Timothy Adegoke who committed a punishable offence under Section 315 of the Penal Code, Vol. 2 Cap. 34 Laws of Osun State, 2002.

“You, Dr Ramon Adedoyin, Adeniyi Aderogba, Magdalene Chiefuna, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adebayo Kunle, Adedeji Adesola and others now at large, on or between November 5 and 7, 2021, before this distinguished court did attempt to commit a felony within the jurisdiction of a person, thereby committing a punishable offense in violation of Section 509 of the Penal Code, vol.

Reacting to the ruling, prosecutor Fatima Adesina praised the court’s decision, while Mr. K. Eleja (SAN), representing Adedoine, said that since the charges against him have been amended, he The parties will call witnesses. He requested seven days to prepare his witnesses.

Mr. Muritala Abdulrosheed, representing the 2nd, 4th and 5th accused, stated that only the 5th accused would be called to testify again.

Mr. Rowland Otaru (SAN), lawyer for Defendants 3 and 6, said that his client would call some witnesses, and similarly Okon Ita, lawyer for Defendant 7, said her client would also testify again.

Judge Ojo then adjourned the matter to Thursday, December 2, for the purpose of calling and recalling witnesses.
