Nigerian Volleyball Federation president Musa Nimrod said his government would tap more young talent in the country’s six geopolitical regions.

This was revealed by Nimrod at the closing ceremony of the 2022 National Volleyball League 1 and 2 at the indoor gymnasium of the Ahmedubello Stadium in Kaduna on Friday.

Ifunanya Udeagbala of Anambra Angels has been named the MVP of the 2022 National Division 1 Volleyball League (Women).

Nimrod said Udeagbala has the potential to play professional volleyball abroad, adding that the federation will continue to provide a conducive environment for the growth of young players.

He said: “One of the tasks of this NVBF board is to ensure that young players have the opportunity to play volleyball.

“Young players like Ifunanya Udeagbala are spread across 36 states. During my first term, the federation organized a clinic for girls under 18 in six geopolitical districts and there was a positive response.”

“You can see Udgbala of the Angels of Anambra who is doing great in the 2022 National Division I Volleyball League; she is a young girl who is making waves across the country and in SS3.”
