The Peoples Democratic Party says its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, will uphold the rule of law and not disobey court orders if elected as President in next year’s general elections.
Kola Ologbondiyan, spokesperson for the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign, told Saturday Punch that Atiku’s political trajectory had a lot to do with obedience to court orders, saying if elected President, his administration would spare no effort in strengthening the rule of law regardless of whether court rulings favour his administration or not.
“Atiku Abubakar is a symbol of the rule of law. He fought all his battles through the courts. When a man of his stature goes through the courts on all the issues related to him, you can be sure that when he is sued in May 2023 He will be on the side of the law when he is sworn in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on March 29.
“Atiku will also work with the National Assembly and the judiciary to improve our jurisprudence,” Ologbondiyan told our reporters in a phone interview.
